There are ancient cities, such as Perugia, where civic history manifests itself along the same pattern of artistic and architectural evolution, as it appears in the figurative synthesis of Angelus Novus, the most recent work by Giovanna Bruschi. If it is true, as it seems, that art has consistently obtained valuable results by virtue of metaphysical expressions of human toil, as argued by Carlo Giulio Argan, we cannot but appreciate this creation where the various symbolic components merge in total harmony. The subject is an Angel in motion, whose profile appears in the foreground as if lifting or turning himself into an impetuous purifying wind through the city. A perfect intuition that adds an aura of spirituality to this work.
